Nekta-Vite Vitamin Supplements

A nationally approved and proven formulation, in powder form, which is the basis of three formulae of easy to prepare and nutritious supplementary foods for birds:

  • a stable and non-fermenting nectar for nectar eating birds;
  • vitamin/protein/fat solid food (cake mix) for all insect eating birds;
  • vitamin seed cone for seed eating birds.

Uses

Nekta-Vite containsNectar: Dissolve 1 level tspn Nekta-Vite and 1/2 cup sugar in 1 litre of water. Ingredients

Solid Food: Dissolve 2/3 cup sugar in 100ml hot water, cool and add 1 level tspn Nekta-Vite. Stir in 400g crushed grain, and 400g melted beef dripping. Divide into 5 plastic cups & store in refrigerator.

Seed Cone: Mix 3 level tspn gelatine, 4 level tspn glucose, and 1 level tspn Nekta-Vite. Dissolve in 50ml hot water, with 1 tspn glycerine added. Stir in 200g birdseed. While warm, compress into 2 plastic cups. Harden at room temp, for 5 to 10 days.

Drinking Water: 1/2 tspn Nekta-Vite to 1 litre of water.

How much do I need?

100g makes 50 litres of nectar, 50kg of solid food
(cake mix) or 25 kg of seed cones;

200g makes 100 litres of nectar, 100kg of solid food or
50kg of seed cones;

400g makes 200 litres of nectar, 200kg of solid food or
100kg of seed cones;

1kg makes 500 litres of nectar, 500 kg of solid food
or 250 kg of seed cones.
